Briarwood Lodge - Liminal Horror Module

Enter the depths of Briarwood Lodge...

Briarwood Lodge is an old, now abandoned, orphanage from the early 20th century. It is the site of a notorious unexplained mystery. On 13th December 1948 the proprietor of the orphanage, Eugene Briarwood, along with the children in his care disappeared, leaving behind the dead body of his wife, Mary Briarwood. Various rumours and myths circulate around the event, some seek to explain, others to shock and thrill.

Paranormal investigators, abandoned building hunters, adrenaline junkies, and other eccentric types have visited the building in the years following. Inevitably a story will pop up in niche areas online claiming that someone else has disappeared or fallen foul of an evil that looms over the house. No evidence either backs up or debunks these claims.

The players are all members of an online paranormal forum called ‘The Thinning Veil’. Together they have been drawn to a particular discussion thread regarding the disappearance of two people linked to the house and have agreed to meet and explore its depths together.

Did Eugene Briarwood really murder his wife Mary and the children under their care?  - What was his motive?  - Is the house cursed like the rumours say?  - Will you survive the night and discover the truth?
